okay. so here are my thoughts on this, because it directly relates to what Dr. B was commenting on yesterday with how Christians are supposed to act, so on and so forth. Paul says that as Christians we are called to love, yes, but also to call others to a higher standard of living (even if that means rebuking certain courses of actions). as Christians, we are not called to be idiots, end of story (i apologize if this offends). in today's society, radical Christians are already laughed at and marveled at (not in a fair light either) enough. however, oftentimes it is not just the radical Christians. it's the everyday Christian. however, because of foolish statements such as these, the rest of the population thinks ALL Christians are morons. blaming snow on homosexual activities, really? that's akin to blaming the drought on dead cats...it makes NO sense whatsoever. we are already so divided...encouraging ideas such as these only widens the divide, and it helps no one, whether you are the accused party or not. besides, "love your neighbor as yourself", anyone?!?
as Christians, i would like to think, personal ideologies and the like aside, that we would stray away from ridiculous assumptions (of any kind) and rather spend our time on more logical approaches to share the faith in a sensible way.
isn't that what Paul asks us to do anyway?
